Frequently asked questions
Process art focuses on the experience of creating art over the finished product. With The Art Cart, we’ll choose materials and processes to focus on and the finished product is completely dependent on where the artist goes with those things. There is no right or wrong way to complete the art project and each finished piece will look different. The Art Cart is here to support an artist’s own creative process.
Process art encourages exploration, experimentation, and creativity. There is space to wonder. It provides opportunities for children to plan, predict, and think outside of the box. It creates a safe space to problem solve when a material doesn’t work the way you expected. Discovering how oil pastels and watercolors interact is much more impactful by experiencing and noticing it than being told or shown.
Space to park the bus! The bus is just under 20' long (if you leave room for two mid-size vehicles you'll have plenty of space), if hosting a private event be sure to have sufficient parking available. This is often just in front of your driveway or front yard. While the bus does have a sink for washing up, there is no toilet so keep in mind when choosing your event location to be near bathroom facilities for your guests.
The art bus is available to travel Windsor, Greeley, Milliken, Timnath, Fort Collins, Loveland, and Johnstown. If you don’t see your city listed please get in touch to see if we can travel to you! Contact us with your event address for a travel fee quote!
We have listed all prices conveniently on the experience pages. Click "Experiences We Offer" at the top of the page and select which experience you would like more information about. Scroll to the bottom for full pricing information for that experience.
Get in touch through our contact form at the bottom of the page to schedule your private event.
Yes, to lock in the date/time of your event we require a $100 nonrefundable deposit. We do offer fee-free rescheduling (based on availability) if you need to change the date of your event.
You will receive an invoice through Square to your email address and can pay with a bank account or any major credit card. It will ask for a deposit first and then you will receive a reminder email the week of your event with instructions for paying the balance.
Yes! The Art Cart can travel to parks (make sure it's one with a bathroom!) or outside local businesses with permission and parking availability. If you need recommendations on locations get in touch!
Private events are priced for up to 8 people. Additional fees apply for extra guests. Some events are not conducive to additional guests, please reach out directly if you're wanting to have more than 8 guests.
The Art Cart is fun for all ages! Some project options do have minimum age requirements but we have choices for all ages available! If there is a large age gap between guests you may need to choose a project based on the age of the youngest guest or have an adult stay to help younger guests.
No! While adults are welcome to be on the bus for any duration of the event (space dependent), you are not required to stay. You are required to still be on site and available to help any kids that need to leave the bus for bathroom breaks or otherwise.
Weather cancellations are rare but possible. The bus is waterproof and climate controlled so we are not affected by rain. Cancellations may occur if road conditions are unsafe to drive (snow/ice) or if there are high wind warnings that make driving high profile vehicles unsafe.
Events are scheduled for one hour and projects are designed to fill that hour so most hosts choose to do other party activities elsewhere. If you'd like to book additional time for non-art activities inside the bus reach out for a quote.
No, The Art Cart comes with its own generator to power all we need inside the bus. The generator is considered quiet, but if you'd like to reduce the noise further you are welcome to provide an extension cord and power for the bus to plug into (standard outlet).
